The Scientific Goals of CCSD

1.      To reconstruct the composition and structure of the lowest parts of the convergent plate boundary.

2.      To study the geodynamics and crust-mantle interactions on the convergent plate boundary.

3.      To reveal the mechanism of formation and exhumation of UHPM rocks.

4.      To establish geophysical models and interpretation standards for crystalline rocks.

5.      To reveal the ore-forming mechanism of UHPM and discovering new kinds of minerals and new materials.

6.      To explore the recent crustal fluids-rocks interactions and ore-forming mechanism.

7.      To research the deep biosphere, especially the potential growth conditions for microbes in the crust.

8.      To provide scientific evidence for developing resources and exploring the earthquake mechanism.
